American Defense Services, Inc. is forming a Corporate Advisory Board of prominent individuals who will assist the Company in planning its growth and in guiding its management practices.  We are pleased to announce that the first member of the Corporate Advisory Board is Mr. John T. Raymond of Breaux Bridge, Louisiana.

Johnny RaymondJohn T. Raymond, Chairman -- Johnny Raymond is a retired army officer and an active businessman with varied interests in healthcare and as a marketing and public relations consultant.  During his 20 years of active duty he served as the youngest company commander in the 5th Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War.   In 1952, he was one of the first officers to volunteer for the newly established 10th Special Forces Group.  He was an original A Team commander in the 10th Special Forces Group, and in 1953 became an original B Team commander of the newly activated 77th Special Forces Group.  During his service his expertise was the use of demolitions in special operations.  In 1954, he was selected to lead the first Special Forces A Team into Southeast Asia where, at the conclusion of the French Indo China war, he took his team into Thailand to train and convert the Royal Thai Army Ranger Battalion into a Special Forces unit. Mr. Raymond later became the Ranger Advisor to the Royal Thai Army.  He is a qualified rock climber and has had extensive training in special operations under cold weather conditions.  He established and commanded the Special Forces cadre for the first Escape and Evasion course for Naval Aviators at Camp MacKall, NC in 1953.  Mr. Raymond also served in Vietnam as an operations officer with II Field Force (V).

Johnny’s six years in Germany were on assignments where he planned for the destruction of all of the major tunnels and bridges in both the V and VII Corps areas: first in 1957-1960 for the Fulda Gap and from 1963-1966 for southern Germany to include the Bavarian Alps.  He is a graduate of the second Special Forces Officer course and is a qualified Atomic Demolition Munitions (ADM) Officer.  Johnny also served in Vietnam as an operations officer with II Field Force (V) from 1967-68.

Mr. Raymond attended Southwestern Louisiana Institute (now University of Louisiana-Lafayette) where he studied Business Administration. Johnny and his wife, Coatney, have been very active supporters and organizers of cultural and patriotic events in Breaux Bridge and South Lausanne (the Acadiana region of Louisiana) for many years.  He is active in support of veteran’s affairs and is a member of the 5th RCT Association, 82d Airborne Division Association, the Special Forces Association, and the US Army Ranger Association.  He is also "father" of Chapter LXXXI (the Cajun Warriors) of the Special Forces Association.
