ADS' Experience In Homeland Defense

Our Capabilities      Our People

Few, if any, private consulting organizations in the US had the type experience needed to meet the new challenges of Homeland Security before September 11, 2001.  The extent and nature of terrorist actions against the US have never before been so great and varied.  Our organization's experience is not built on its longevity, but on the training and experience of its officers and field analysts.

ADS was formed in the spring of 2003 specifically to provide Homeland Defense Services.  The measure of our company is not what we have done, but what we are capable of doing.  Our corporate field operations officers have a proven performance record and wide range of experience related to counter terrorism and security at both corporate and national levels, providing services on behalf of US and foreign governments.  We welcome the comparison between our staff and that of other consulting organizations that provide Homeland Defense services, especially those that provide it as a secondary service.

Corporate Operations Officers

Ken Lanzalaco, our Vice President of Field Operations, has over forty years experience in planning and implementing security and facilities protection and providing training to security and anti-terrorist personnel.  He is a retired US Army Special Forces Captain who worked his way up through the enlisted ranks. While in the military, he helped plan and implement combat and anti-terrorist operations worldwide.  Mr. Lanzalaco's expertise in security and asset protection includes work for the Strategic Petroleum Reserve (Boeing Petroleum Services' port and storage facilities), Sandia National Laboratories (Applied Methods, Inc.), nuclear material security and anti-terrorist consulting for the Department of Energy (Westinghouse Savannah River Co. and Protection Technology Idaho, Inc.). He is currently providing contract security management at a sensitive manufacturing facility with a port (a rocket fuel manufacturer).

All our principals and many of our field analysts have been trained as military advisors.  Several have trained military and port security personnel in Central America and other international locations.  They are skilled at delivering "train-the-trainer" and trainee level programs, which means, we can leave a legacy of professionally trained personnel after a consulting intervention.

Field Analysts

As of September 2003, we have assembled a highly skilled team of Field Analysts who can be deployed on Homeland Security threat assessment and threat mitigation missions.  Among these individuals are: a former police chief and former SWAT Team Commander for two large US cities (both of whom have experience with security for dignitaries and major events); a construction engineer (PE) with experience in civil and structural engineering projects and security; a HazMat and large structure fire technician, a surveillance and counter-surveillance specialist; a counter-terrorist and intelligence specialist who has recently served as a Homeland Defense contractor on domestic and foreign deployments; and an experienced bomb technician and former Navy diver, who is a recent graduate of the FBI's Hazardous Devices School.  Almost all are ex-military or law enforcement and many have special operations experience.
